What incredible students we have!!
Congratulations to the University of Wyoming Wool Judging Team on their Reserve Champion, and Champion Handspinning Division showings at the National Western Intercollegiate Wool Judging Contest!
Team members included:
Trevor Halverson (Big Timber, MT)
Hadley Paisley (Wheatland, WY)
Claire Poppenberger (Prescott Valley, AZ)
Elizabeth Schroeder (Evergreen, CO)
After a seventh-place finish out of eight universities at the UWyo 7220 Wool contest just two days prior, this hard-working squad responded with grit and determination, coming back strong for an excellent all-around finish on a national stage.
The team is coached by Dr. Whit Stewart, with outstanding support and leadership from assistant coaches Cameron Herrick (Laramie, WY) and Allie Van Why (Chugwater, WY).
A special shout-out as well to the Johnson County 4-H educator and former UWyo wool judging assistant coach Bryce McKensie for his support in the reasons room with our team this past weekβyour enthusiasm and expertise helped make this success possible.
