Sigma Chi-University of Wyoming The Gamma Xi chapter of Sigma Chi was founded at the University of Wyoming in 1930 and is very active On campus, the men of Sigma Chi are very involved.

Sigma Chi is one of the oldest and largest Greek-letter social fraternities in North America, with more than 240 active chapters in the US and Canada. Sigma Chi was founded in 1855 based on the high ideals of friendship, justice and learning and since its founding, Sigma Chi has initiated over 300,000 men. ry active in the Greek community as well as the Laramie community. Each year the brothers hold a national philanthropy called Derby Days, which is a week-long event to raise money for the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI). Since Sigma Chi began donating to HCI in 2005, men and woman from across the country have raised over 1 million dollars. Locally, Sigma Chi volunteers with Big Brothers/Big Sister for pumpkin carving with kids in the fall and sledding with them on card board sleds during the winter. Many hold positions on the student governing body (ASUW), many are active in other student organizations, academic honor-roll.
