Becca Shoemaker (BFA Theatre and Dance with a concentration in Dance Performance '18)
Current Town: Colorado Springs, CO
What have you been up to since graduation?
"Today, Becca Shoemaker performs professionally with Messengerz Dance Company and recently had the honor of dancing on the World of Dance stage. Alongside her performance career, she serves as the Artistic Director of CO.LLECTIVE MVMT Dance Co., a youth contemporary worship company based in Colorado Springs, where she mentors young dancers and encourages them to use movement as an expression of faith and worship. Becca is an active educator, choreographer, and rehearsal director in the Colorado Springs dance community. She teaches a variety of genres, including ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, and contemporary, at several local dance studios. She also works as a competitive dance choreographer and rehearsal director, developing dancers’ technical abilities, artistry, and performance quality for regional and national competitions. Her choreography has received numerous Judges’ Choice Awards, Most Entertaining honors, Best Costume accolades, and Top Overall placements. In addition, Becca serves as a dance competition judge for KAR Productions, sharing her experience and passion for dance through constructive feedback and mentorship. Becca also has a deep love for musical theatre and choreographs productions for Christian Youth Theatre (CYT), Christian Community Theatre (CCT), and Home School Academy (HSA). She is passionate about bringing stories to life through movement and creating meaningful opportunities for performers to grow in confidence, artistry, and expression. Whether performing, teaching, choreographing, or mentoring the next generation of artists, Becca is grateful for the opportunities dance has provided throughout her life. Above all, she gives all the glory to God for the gifts, relationships, and opportunities that continue to shape her journey."

Alumni Spotlight! ✨🧑‍🎓🤠
Dustin Petrillo (BFA Theatre and Dance with a concentration in Musical Theatre '17)
Hometown: Cheyenne, WY
Current Town: St. Louis, MO

What have you been up to since you graduated?
"I’ve acted in over 30 productions regionally and in St. Louis proper for the past 7 years, a few of which I’ve been recognized critically as a St. Louis Theatre Circle nominee. Some of my favorite roles/experiences have been Hamlet in “Hamlet”, Ken in “Red”, Haskell Harelik in “The Immigrant”, Edmund in “Long Day’s Journey Into Night”, and Cliff in “Cabaret”. St. Louis has an incredible arts scene and is an amazing base to establish a budding acting career, or at least a good place to find likeminded creatives who are hungry to devise new artwork and build collaborations."

Jazlyn Hart (BA Theatre and Dance '20)
Hometown: Alliance, Nebraska

What have you been up to since you graduated?
"I just completed six years directing a dance studio in McCook, Nebraska. While there I was the head instructor and taught a plethora of styles and techniques. I just moved back to my hometown and am currently teaching dance at my childhood studio along with directing their competition team. While a degree in dance isn’t 100% required to teach in a local studio, it gives me the opportunity to give my students the best foundation of dance technique in all aspects, whether they are recreational, aspiring teachers, or potentially professionals."
