🤠 We've got a new face on the Alumni team! Help us welcome Megan Levin!

I’m delighted to introduce myself as the new Senior Board and Operations Coordinator with the University of Wyoming Alumni Association. Originally from Casper, I graduated from UW with a B.A. in Anthropology in 2014 before leaving Wyoming to pursue a career in cultural resource management archaeology in the Southwest. As it turns out, leaving Wyoming made me appreciate home even more. UW eventually brought me back to Laramie, where I earned my M.A. in Anthropology in 2019. My husband, Sam, and I have now called Laramie home for 10 years.

My career at UW began in 2020 in the Office of the President, where I spent five and a half years providing administrative and operational support. At the heart of my work is a simple motivation: to make someone’s day better. I’m excited to bring that spirit to the Alumni Association, build new connections, and serve the UW community in this new role.

It has evolved into a community of donors and supporters all uniting for one reason—getting kids back to being kids. As a fund within the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation, 100% of donations are directly used for the care of Western New York’s kids and families.

From the classroom to entrepreneurship, Lily Minton is growing something of her own as the new owner of The Green Oasis, an indoor plant store in Laramie.

Her advice to current Cowboys? Give yourself grace, ask for help when you need it and remember that your college experience is about more than just getting to graduation.

“Making sure you understand the class material is more important than graduating as fast as possible.”

And when the work is done? Have fun, make friends and enjoy the journey.

From UW to East Carolina University, Eli Hvastkovs has built a career rooted in teaching, connection and a passion for helping students succeed. In Spring 2026, he was honored with ECU’s Board of Governors’ Distinguished Professor for Teaching Award after years of dedication to his students.

His advice to current Cowboys? Get involved, meet new people and make the most of every opportunity outside the classroom.

“Experience as many student groups and interact with as many students as you can. The more people you meet will benefit you down the road in your career and in life.”

A reminder that some of the most valuable lessons and connections happen beyond the classroom.

From music education to handcrafted spirits, Amber Pollock's journey proves that career paths don't have to be linear.

After earning bachelor's and master's degrees in music education from UW, Amber went on to co-found Backwards Distilling Company in Casper. Thirteen years later, Backwards has expanded to Laramie, bringing its circus-inspired tasting room to UW Plaza.

Her advice to students and recent grads? Embrace the unexpected and stay open to where your degree can take you.

"Your path probably won't be linear, but if you're open to them, surprising opportunities exist."
