Alumni Career Celebration 🎉

Traci Donnell has built a career defined by innovation, leadership, and a lasting impact on the technology industry.

A two-time University of Wyoming graduate, earning her B.A. in 1992 and M.B.A. in 2000, Traci has spent more than two decades helping shape the future of how the world connects. Since joining the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) in 2000 and serving as Executive Director since 2009, she has played a key role in the development and global adoption of USB technologies, including USB 2.0, USB 3.0, USB4, and the widely used USB-C connector.

In recognition of her foundational contributions, Traci was recently named to the USB-IF Honor Roll, an award established to celebrate the visionaries whose work helped make USB the most successful I/O interface in computing history.

Her advice to students? “Be useful. Focus on solving problems, help where you can, and be willing to step beyond your formal role when needed. Those opportunities often lead to the greatest growth.”

Alumni Spotlight 🎉

Chuck Brown has built a remarkable 60-year business rooted in gratitude, relationships, and Wyoming values.

A proud UW graduate, Brown earned his B.S. in 1962 before growing into a successful business leader with clients in all 50 states. He credits his journey to the people who supported him along the way: suppliers, bankers, customers, and employees. His professional growth was also shaped by public service, including activities with the UW Board of Trustees, the Federal Reserve Board, and the Wyoming Business Council.

A proud UW graduate, Brown earned his B.S. in 1962 before growing into a successful business leader with clients in all 50 states. He credits his journey to the people who supported him along the way: suppliers, bankers, customers, and employees. His professional growth was also shaped by public service, including activities with the UW Board of Trustees, the Federal Reserve Board, and the Wyoming Business Council.

Now a member of the Wyoming Business Hall of Fame, Brown reflects a lifetime of achievement and appreciation. 🤎💛

His advice to students? “Find something you love that allows you to stay in Wyoming; it’s a special place to have a business, raise a family, and to build lifelong friendships.”

Since 2017, UW alumni have helped welcome incoming Cowboys and Cowgirls to campus through handwritten notes filled with encouragement, advice, and Brown & Gold pride. 🤎💛

This year, we invite you to continue the tradition and help make a new student feel at home before they even set foot on campus.

Here’s how it works:
✍️ In early July, you’ll receive 5 stamped, pre-addressed postcards
📬 Share advice, favorite UW memories, words of encouragement, or what being a Cowboy means to you.
