Mighty like the Rose: Providing "Greater Service, Greater Progress" in Prince George's County, MD since 1983

On Saturday March 26, 1983, twenty-five Sorors and five honorary members chartered Zeta Tau Sigma Alumnae Chapter. It was the largest chapter to ever be chartered in the Northeast Region. In keeping our sorority's mission statement, the Zeta Tau Sigma Chapter has participated in and continues to contribute to various community services throughout Prince George's County. We are dedicated to reaching out to others and making a difference within our community.

Great leaders are great readers!

Today, we promote literacy! Join our ZTS Rhosebuds in the challenge to read for 15-30 minutes a day and visit your local library this summer.

Our public library system (PGCMLS Libraries ) offers so many great programs and services, and our Rhosebuds even created appreciation bags for the staff at the South Bowie Library Branch last year!

On such a hot day, cool off with this post from Zeta Tau Sigma’s Swim1922 program in May! Hosted at C. Elizabeth Rieg Regional School (CE Rieg ), this year we focused on supporting children in the autism community. As reported by the National Autism Association, children with autism are 160 times more likely to die from drowning. The day featured three instructional sessions with a blend of classroom instruction and pool learning.

ZTS couldn’t host this event without the help of all our partners including: the City of Bowie; Prince George’s County Memorial Library System; the Maryland National Capital Park & Planning Commission; and The Mighty Rose Foundation.

We look forward to continuing this important work to keep our youth safe and confident in the water. 💛🏊🏾‍♀️💦
