The New Mexico State University Foundation is proud to once again sponsor the NMSU Homecoming football game on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 3 p.m. in Aggie Memorial Stadium, while also celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Distinguished Alumni Awards, one of the Foundation's most cherished traditions.

The Aggies will take on the Liberty Flames of Liberty University as alumni, students and community members return to campus for a weekend filled with reunions, recognition and celebration.

The semester’s live music season starts today, Thursday, Sept. 3, at Atkinson Recital Hall

- At 4 p.m., NMSU piano students will begin the evening by performing their masterclass repertoire.
- At 7:30 p.m., guest artist Dr. Er-Hsuan Li from Montana State University will perform a solo, followed by a collaborative piano recital with NMSU faculty artists, horn player Dr. Angela Winter, and trumpet player Dr. Jacob Dalager.

All of the recitals this evening are free to attend and open to the public.

Kicking off its first reading of the semester, the Nelson-Boswell Reading Series is hosting award-winning writer and New Mexico State University visiting fiction professor Jessica Alexander.

She will be reading selections from her gothic novel, “Agnes, We're Not Murderers!” The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, in the CMI Theater (Room 171) located inside Milton Hall on NMSU Main Campus.

NMSU's Army ROTC will host a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb from 6 to 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, at the Aggie Memorial Stadium to honor the lives lost and remember the heroes.

Marking 25 years since September 11, 2001, a procession of uniformed bag pipers will lead the initial wave of participants to the stair climb. A mix of local civilian climbers of all ages and fitness levels will move alongside active-duty personnel, illustrating community solidarity.

NMSU is now home to a new high-performance computing system that significantly expands the university’s capacity for state-of-the-art research computing, including locally controlled artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data.

This summer, the NMSU Research Cores Program commissioned Colibrí, an advanced computing system that provides opportunities for AI and machine learning, advanced modeling, data-intensive research and scientific computing. It will support technology development tied directly to challenges faced by New Mexico, with examples that include wildfire detection and response coordination, a full digital twins of local agricultural systems, high-fidelity modeling of water treatment systems designed for New Mexico waters, and edge decision-support technologies for remote hybrid solar, wind and fuel-cell power systems.
