So proud of our 3rd year OTD capstone student, Myrnnda Miller, alongside her incredible mentor Aesa Jackson, OTR/L, CNT, NLP, NTMTC, CPST from 👏

Together, they volunteered at the Spring Family Wellness & Safety Festival, supporting families and promoting car seat safety, an essential part of keeping children safe in our community 🚗💛

This is what capstone is all about hands-on learning, community impact, and real-world application of occupational therapy in action.

We love seeing our students volunteer and step into meaningful roles that make a difference!

Recovering from a stroke isn’t one-size-fits-all—and neither is occupational therapy. 🧠❤️

Dr. Chih-Huang “Jeffrey” Yu, Assistant Professor in the UNLV Occupational Therapy Department, highlights the power of a task-oriented, client-centered approach, where rehab is built around what truly matters to each person.

“When we understand the person, their life, and what’s meaningful to them, we can create a plan that actually improves their performance.”

At UNLV, we’re preparing future OTs to go beyond the basics, treating the whole person and helping clients get back to the life they love.
