Thank you to the incredible team at for inviting UNLV Hospitality Management students to Spain My Way: Live with José Andrés at The Palazzo Theatre!

Our students spent an afternoon hearing from the acclaimed about the stories behind his recipes from his newest cookbook. They also saw him in action, cooking up dishes he grew up with. As a parting gift, students left with an autographed copy of his cookbook!

Christian Egbo-Cruz was one of dozens of hospitality management students to attend the American Music Awards () in Las Vegas. Students were surrounded by celebrities and successful individuals in the entertainment industry as they were part of the red carpet, audience, and stage pit!

Couldn’t picture a sweeter internship 🍫 🎢

UNLV Hospitality Management student Aziz Alanazi is interning with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts at HersheyPark this summer, where he’ll be working in attractions operations and guest experience!

Aziz’s responsibilities include assisting guests, supporting attraction operations, maintaining safety standards, and helping create a positive and memorable environment for visitors throughout the park. This summer internship suits Aziz perfectly as his goal is to build a long-term career in the entertainment and attractions industry.

His advice for students seeking an internship?

“Stay open to opportunities and never be afraid to step outside your comfort zone. Some of the best experiences come from taking chances, meeting new people, and challenging yourself in unfamiliar environments. I also believe networking, volunteering, and staying involved can open doors you never expected.”

Glenda Ordonez made the College of Hospitality proud by not only earning her master’s degree, but also being selected as the commencement speaker at the spring 2026 graduate ceremony!

“This opportunity represents not only academic achievement, but also perseverance, growth, and the journey of returning to graduate school later in life while balancing work, family, and personal responsibilities,” says Ordonez.

Glenda plans to contribute to the industry through research, leadership, and mentorship as she not only prepares to pursue a Ph.D. In hospitality administration, but also develop for entrepreneurship goals.
