This Hospitality Honors class collaboration is out of this world 👽

In Professor Sam Lee’s Hospitality Honors course, his students are developing a recruitment marketing campaign for AREA15 (AREA15). They recently took an on-site visit to understand what the immersive entertainment district is all about. Their next visit will be with AREA15’s leadership team to propose a marketing plan and get real-world feedback.

For the fourth year in a row, Professors Seyhmus Baloglu and Sunny Kim have been included on the World's Top 2% Scientists list, which is compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier.

This prestigious list identifies the world's leading researchers, representing approximately 2% of all scientists worldwide. Professors Baloglu and Kim are recognized in the subfield of Sport, Leisure, and Tourism. The ranking is based on standardized data on citations, h-index, and a wide range of bibliometric indicators.

Oct. 12 marked a momentous day for Clark County and Indigenous people in Southern Nevada. Yesterday, Tribal Nation representatives, commissioner Commissioner Tick Segerblom, and community leaders gathered together at the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Sign” to celebrate a proclamation honoring Oct. 12 as Indigenous Peoples Day.

We were especially proud to see the college’s Director of Tribal Education Initiative Tammi Tiger recognized with a special proclamation during the ceremony for her and Yuhaaviatam’s (Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation) work in removing higher education barriers for Native students.

Thank you to all the speakers and community members who helped honor this day in Southern Nevada.

Students from the Harrah College of Hospitality were invited to attend Brian D. Stevens’ “An Evening of Legacy & Leadership” Gala Dinner during IMEX to celebrate his remarkable contributions to the event industry and raise scholarship funds.

It was an incredible evening for hospitality students, who had the opportunity to connect directly with industry leaders and gain invaluable insights. A big thank you to ConferenceDirect and IMEX for inviting our students to be part of such a special night!
