Ivory, in a very green room.
Three days at Easy’s inside ARIA for IHG at Virtuoso Travel Week — a
room that is already doing a lot. Deep green velvet. Dark marble.
Brass. Low light.
When the space is that saturated, the flowers should not compete with
it. They should give the eye somewhere soft to land.
So we went monochromatic. One color, many textures:
· garden roses for weight
· hydrangea for mass
· stock and lisianthus for movement
· dendrobium orchid for the line that breaks the shape
Nineteen arrangements. Footed compotes on the cocktail tables, low and
lush across the bars, mid-size layered pieces on every coffee table,
two statement florals, and one sculptural piece built to the speaker box.
Built early in the morning, before the room woke up. Installed in the morning unrushed. Refreshed daily for three days, because a
three-day event should look like day one on day three.
Second year designing this room for Imprint Events Group — and that is
the part I am actually proud of. Getting asked back.
Structure first. Softness second.
