UNLV CRJ Mock Trial Team

UNLV Mock Trial is a program aimed at exposing collegiate students to Trial Advocacy. Students get academic credit for participating on the team.

The Criminal Justice Mock Trial Team competes against other colleges in American Mock Trial Association tournaments. At a tournament, teams of attorneys and witnesses present criminal or civil cases. Trials are very similar to actual trials, where attorneys make opening and closing statements, question witnesses, and argue rules of evidence. During the semester, experienced attorneys and judges wo

rk with students to help them develop powerful trial presentation skills. In addition, the criminal justice department offers courses to build understanding of trial advocacy (CRJ 340) and rules of evidence (CRJ 225).

The workshop offers high-school students and recent grads an opportunity to be exposed early on to the Southern Nevada legal profession and we could not do this without you. 📍2026 Rebel Trojan All-In Tournament

Last weekend the Rebels hosted 32 teams in Vegas for the 17th Rebel Trojan Invitational!

The Rebels stood 30 strong bringing 3 teams of talent to compete amongst some of the best in the West. This was the largest number of competitors fielded by the Rebels in recent history, and a record number of underclassman given the opportunity to showcase their talent. We are so proud!

We took home 5 awards:
Out of 32 teams worth of attorneys, Nikki Adams, Miguel Soriano, and Leila Smith were three of just 16 others to bring home Outstanding Attorney awards, requiring 18/20 ranks to medal. Freshman, Dominic Barr, and our President, Nikki Adams, earned 17 ranks as witnesses, making them just two of 11 witnesses to medal. Nikki Adams was the only competitor in the whole tournament to double-medal as an attorney and witness! Amazing job, Rebels!! ✊

At the helm of each Team this year are our captains:

A Team: Nikki Adams, the most decorated competitor in UNLV history, and our 2025-2026 President, is leading our most seasoned team this year!

B Team: Caitlin Tubiolo, our Secretary, who quickly rose amongst the ranks from a single witness role her freshman year to become a skilled attorney and Captain, is leading B Team through to Regionals and beyond!

C Team: Miguel Soriano, our 2024-2025 President and former ORCS competitor, is leading our ambitious underclassman team. This will be UNLVs first C team to compete at Regionals!

Each tournament we are reminded of and inspired by our Rebels’ determination and grit. This year we will continue to make history because REBELS MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!✊✊

This holiday season, our Mockmas was filled with pool games, gingerbread houses, and Secret Santa fun. 🤍

We’re so grateful to wrap up the 2025 season with amazing new members, exciting competitions, and the most supportive coaches. 🤩

For the first time ever UNLV went to 2 invitationals in our fall semester, this year Team Purple went to UCSD’s Wlodarczyk Invitational and showed unwavering dedication like the San Diego waves! Thank you for hosting such a fantastic competition in the rainy San Diego. 🩶

To the new members on Team C who stepped into their first competition you astounded us! You showed up even when it was raining and have continually worked hard for weeks. You all have come so far from the beginning of the year and should be proud of your accomplishments.

You set the bar high, and this is only the beginning!

Today, we want to give thanks for all of the incredible people who make this team what it is (and trust us… there are a lot of you :D). To our coaches, members, guest speakers, and friends we could not have done any of this without you. So on this Thanksgiving day, we’re grateful for our wonderful members, as well as the memories, and moments we’ve created together.

This program has grown farther than we ever imagined, and it wouldn’t have been possible without your time, effort, and unwavering support.
