There’s a quiet shift that happens before risky behavior shows up.

It’s not the party.
It’s not the first drink.
It’s not the obvious red flag.

It’s this:

Your teen stops telling you small things.

They stop mentioning who they sat with at lunch.
They stop talking about what happened after practice.
They stop sharing random, ordinary details.

When everyday communication shrinks, influence shrinks with it.

Prevention doesn’t start with lectures about substances.
It starts with protecting the flow of small conversations.

Tonight, instead of asking:

“How was school?”

Try:

“What was the most annoying part of your day?”
“Who made you laugh today?”
“What felt awkward?”

Ordinary details build extraordinary protection.
