UNLV Athletic Training

UNLV Athletic Training UNLV Athletic Training The Undergraduate Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) at UNLV is a CAATE accredited athletic training curriculum program.

The purpose of the ATEP is to prepare athletic training students for the professional world and to pass the Board of Certification examination. Students completing the clinical athletic training education program will earn a bachelor of science with a major in athletic training. During the Athletic Training Education Program, the athletic training student will attain competencies through a special

ized hands-on, practical experience. Each student has the opportunity to work with the 17 NCAA Division 1 sports that UNLV offers and multiple clinical sites. The athletic training student works directly with team physicians and staff athletic trainers in the areas of prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for athletic-related injuries. In addition to the athletic training room and field exposure, students may spend additional hours working in sports medicine clinics, observing surgical procedures, and assisting physicians in an office setting. This hands-on, practical instruction not only compliments the educational experience, but also provides excellent field based learning opportunities for each student. For questions or more information about the ATEP, please send us a message on facebook or visit our website at http://web.unlv.edu/athletics/training/index.html

MEET OUR DIRECTORS … Mr. Tedd Girouard and Dr. Michelle Samuel!

This program would not be what it is without them and their dedication to the future of Athletic Training. A huge thank you from all the current and past students who would not be the people and medical professionals they are today without their guidance. 🩶
