If you’re interested in the casting process please join us THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8 in FDH 109 for the UNLV Film Casting Workshop.

We’ll cover how to cast your projects in an efficient and organized manner so you can get the perfect actor for your needs.

Following the workshop, we’ll be holding our annual Open Call Auditions for any students and community actors who wish to be added to our casting binder for the academic year. This is a great chance to see the diversity of talent available to you.

Coca-Cola Refreshing Films Contest Applicants!

The deadline for submitting to the Coca-Cola Refreshing Films Contest is coming up on Friday October 9th, 2026! I encourage all film students to apply. It is an amazing chance to win $26,000 to make a film for Coca-Cola!

You will need to submit a one page script, a budget and a signature page. I will be having a workshop on Friday October 2nd at 12 PM via Zoom to go over the specifics and answer any questions.

Please join us for a very special UNLV FILM Thursday, hosted by the College of Fine Arts Alumni Chapter.

HUZ: DRAWN TO LIFE (2026; dir. Don Hahn; documentary) is a celebration of perseverance, faith, and the enduring power of mentorship. It shares an intimate portrait of artist Ron Husband, a UNLV Art alumnus who broke barriers as the first Black animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios. Husband entered Disney’s rigorous training program in the 1970s and made vital contributions to animated classics while navigating high-pressure reviews and a life-threatening brain tumor.

RECEPTION (FDH lobby): 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
SCREENING (FDH 109): 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Followed by Q&A with Ron Husband and film director Don Hahn: 8:00 to 8:45 p.m.
