Alpha Epsilon Delta, or AED, is the premier, nationally recognized pre-health professional honor society on campus. We pride ourselves on three main pillars: selfless service, academic excellence, and professional development to make YOU the best applicant possible for professional school!
As a nationally recognized organization, we can only accept national members in their second year of college (sophomore standing). However, we have what is known as an Affiliate Membership in which you can still get involved in AED without being a national member. As an affiliate member, we require:
* 5 hours of humanitarian service with AED
* Attend 2 speaker events/socials/meetings (1 Must be a General Meeting)
* Complete 1 Community Fundraising Event per year.
Once you achieve Sophomore standing, you may transition into National Membership. As we are an honor society, we have a GPA requirement of 3.2 science (math, chemistry, biology, physics) and cumulative GPA (psychology, sociology, English, etc).
In summary, here are the general requirements for AED National Members each semester:
* 20 hours of humanitarian service with AED
* Attend 5 meetings/speaker presentations/socials
* 1 Fundraising Event with Thomas & Mack (once per year)
* 1 Community Fundraising Event (once per year)
* (Encouraged): Join a committee!
