We are here to recruit minority & underrepresented undergrad/grad students into the STEM & health related disciplines, foster a positive learning atmosphere & professional growth , increase retention & graduation rates, & improve overall student success. In January 2013, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) launched a new Multicultural Program (MP) office to continue attracting more underre
presented and minority undergraduate and graduate students, not only into the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), but also health related disciplines, including nursing. Under the direction of Provost John White, two UNLV colleges (Engineering Sciences, and Schools of Allied Health Sciences, Community Health Sciences, and Nursing have come together and laid out the foundation for the new Multicultural Program (MP) for Engineering Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, Community Health Sciences, and Nursing Majors. The new MP office connects, serves, and supports its members by fulfilling the UNLV core objectives, and carrying out the mission of the University to promote learning and overall success among underrepresented and minority students.
