Thinking about staying on campus this summer? Here’s what you need to know about Summer Housing at UNLV!

Current residents can apply through their Housing Portal with NO application fee required. Just select “Summer Housing Application” from the navigation menu.

📅 Summer Sessions:
• Session 1: May 17 – June 7
• Session 2: June 8 – July 11
• Session 3: July 12 – August 15
📍 Summer housing will be located in Dayton South.

⚠️ Please note:
• Residents staying for the summer will need to move into their summer assignment
• Single rooms will be very limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis

✅ To be eligible for summer housing, students must:
• Be enrolled in at least 1 summer class
• Be in good academic, conduct, and financial standing with the university

📣 Reminder for Future Rebels & Families:

🚨The Housing Application Priority Deadline for Fall 2026 at UNLV is June 1!

Submitting the housing application by the priority deadline gives students the opportunity to:
✔️Participate in roommate matching
✔️Select their preferred room and housing complex
✔️Increase their chances of living in a Theme Community

Roommate matching began on May 1, but there is still plenty of time for students to connect with potential roommates before room selection begins. 🖤❤️

Students interested in an Academic Theme Community should note that all members of a roommate group must belong to the same college or program (Honors, Engineering, Hospitality, Fine Arts, etc.) in order to select those designated floors during room selection.

Complete your housing application before June 1 to have the best selection opportunities for Fall 2026! 🏠✨

Rebels! Now is the time for you to begin planning for your Fall 2026 UNLV housing experience. 🏡

Roommate Matching for the 2026–2027 academic year is open from May 1 through June 15. This process allows students to connect with compatible roommates ahead of move-in, helping create a smoother and more comfortable transition into campus living.

⚠️Important deadlines to remember:
• Housing applications must be fully completed by June 1 to participate in roommate matching
• All roommate group requests must be finalized by June 15 at 11:59 PM
• Room Selection will take place June 16–30

Students can create roommate groups, join existing groups, search for specific students, or browse compatibility-based roommate suggestions through the housing portal. 📍😁

We encourage everyone to begin early, communicate with potential roommates, and discuss room preferences before room selection opens. Preparing ahead of time helps ensure a more organized and positive housing experience for everyone involved. 🖤❤️

Leadership, service, and a passion for education have defined Torie Thompson’s journey at UNLV ✨

Torie is graduating from UNLV with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. During her undergraduate experience, she served as a Resident Assistant at South Complex, a UNLV College of Education Ambassador, and a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., all while making a meaningful impact within the campus community.

As she looks toward the future, Torie plans to work in an elementary school classroom while pursuing a master’s degree in Special Education to continue creating positive and supportive learning environments for students. 🍎📚

Big dreams, major accomplishments, and a bright future ahead 🎓✨

Reina Moriguchi is graduating from UNLV with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and a concentration in Event Design and Management! Throughout their time here, she gained incredible hands-on experience working at Formula 1, the Super Bowl, and as a Las Vegas Raiders Ambassador. ❤️🖤

Reina also made a lasting impact on campus through intramural volleyball, serving as a Resident Assistant for two years, working as a Housing Consultant since Fall 2025, and as an Event Concierge at UNLV Student Union & Event Services since Fall 2025.

And this is only the beginning! 🎉 This fall, Reina will continue her journey at UNLV while pursuing a Master of Science in Hotel Administration.

UNLV! Start planning ahead now with our move-out tips and checkout options in this post!

The end of the spring semester is approaching quickly, and move-out day will be here before you know it!

Residence halls will close on Saturday, May 16th at 12:00 PM, and all room/building access will be removed at that time. Residents will not be able to re-enter their halls after access is removed, so please make sure you are fully packed and checked out before noon.

Meal plans, including swipes, exchanges, and dining dollars, will expire Friday, May 15th at 7:00 PM when the Dining Commons closes.

Please note that all residents are required to complete a checkout form. Failure to complete the checkout process may result in a $100 improper checkout charge.

Students approved for Summer Housing or a late stay do not need to vacate at that time. Be sure to monitor your email for approval notifications and additional housing information. Review the move-out tips and checkout options in this post to help make your transition smooth and stress-free!

Need a quick food rundown before finals and summer? Here’s the important stuff ⬇️

🗓️ Finals Week (May 11–17)

Monday–Wednesday = best food availability on campus
Starbucks (UNLV Student Union & Event Services): 7 AM–5 PM
Panda Express: open until 8 PM
Dining Commons: 7 AM–9 PM
POD DC: open late until 1–2 AM

Thursday = reduced hours begin
Several locations begin closing early, with some spots shutting down between 2 and 4 PM.
POD DC closes at 4 PM.

Friday = limited options
Most campus dining locations close by mid-afternoon. Dining Commons remains open until 7 PM.

Weekend (May 16–17)
Most campus dining locations will be closed.

Panda Express: 10 AM–4 PM
Starbucks (SU): 7:30 AM–4 PM
Subway: 10:30 AM–2:30 PM
SOHO Sushi Burrito: 10 AM–3 PM
Dining Commons: 7 AM–6:30 PM daily

🥤 Jamba Juice returns June 8.

QDOBA, Greens, Chicken Guy, Halal Shack, Panera To Go, Shake Smart, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, and additional Starbucks locations will be closed for the summer.
