As an incoming freshman student, Jack Quinn was first undecided on his area of study despite always having a strong interest in history. Along the way, he enrolled in Peace and Justice in Historical Perspective, a history class instructed by Dr. Timothy Kelly, chair of the Department of History housed in AHSS, and was hooked.

Learn more about Jack's experience presenting at the 2026 American Historical Association's Annual Meeting.

Saint Vincent College junior Jack Quinn presents his research on music's role in the Vietnam War era at the annual meeting of the American Historical Association.

Meet freshman public history major, Emma Kosmiski! Emma started at Saint Vincent in the fall and has been a great addition.

Say hello to Emma Kosmiski, a Public History major (C’29) from Leeper, PA, who’s part of our team at the Verostko Center for the Arts.

Emma was drawn to the gallery because she’s thinking ahead, as she hopes to work in a museum one day, and wanted hands-on experience to get there.

Right now, she’s most excited to learn everything that happens behind the scenes and assist with all the details that bring exhibitions and collections to life.

When it comes to art, Emma loves Claude Monet's paintings.

Fun fact: she’s also a talented cook and spent three years working as a chef!

Looking ahead, Emma’s dream is to work at the National Archives someday.

We’re so glad she’s part of our team. Her curiosity and enthusiasm make her such a great fit here.

Thank you to everyone who supported us! There's still time if you'd like to help.

Thank you to everyone who supported us! There's still time if you'd like to help.

It's that time of year where you can help create opportunities for current history and public history students! The Day of Giving allows donors to give directly to the History Department. You can help us take students to conferences, buy equipment for public history projects, build community through social events, and purchase classroom supplies. Thank you for taking a moment to consider giving to the History Department and for your continuing to support our students.
