Triple E has relaunched her website. Check it out at: www.tripleesystems.com.
Some key activities now going on at Triple E towards the origination of new assignments include:
(a) Development of a cluster of Rooftop Solar hybrid system as a pilot that will be replicated on a larger scale later. Key information about the ongoing work:
- Targeting carefully selected sites (Residential Estates, Commercial Offices, a Private University.
- Total expected installed Solar PV capacity of about 5 MW;
- Hybrid will be Solar PV/Storage/ Diesel at each site;
- Project being designed to inject excess (after satisfying site demand) t the grid or to identified ring-fenced customers;
- Triple E currently developing all the front end documentation including: estimation of demand and peak demand at each site; energy use efficiency audits at each site; Roof space availability and integrity evaluation at each site; Shading analysis of each roof; preliminary engineering design of the generation assets at each site; preliminary network engineering design of the system to off take excess electricity; Financial and Economic Feasibility of the pilot program; etc. The ongoing work is expected to deliver a Bankable Document for the program by the end of November 2019.
(b) Mini-grid Project in Ejigbo Osun State Nigeria.
The project is being developed for submission to the REA/EU IMAS platform. A 1 MW Solar PV Hybrid Farm that will inject power into the distribution grid of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEFC) is currently been developed by a consortium led by Triple E (Triple E/CREDC/SolarCentric). The project is expected to lead to increased electricity access for at least 1,500 customers currently connected to the IBEDC network. Presently, customers on this DISCO grid receives about 2 hours of electricity on the average per day from the grid. When the project is implemented, it is expected that energy access close to 24/7 supply will be achieved for these 1,500 consumers (of the 6,500 active customers on that grid). The plan is to extend the success of this pilot first to the remaining unconnected consumers in Ejigbo and later to consumers in Ife-Odan (another community served by the same DISCO from the Injection point in Ejigbo).
(c) NESP II Assignment as a Sub-Contractor to Integration Gmbh of Berlin
This project, which is funded by the EU and managed by GiZ involves. The remote mapping of all off-grid communities in Nigeria; Onsite Tagging of the remote maps; and preparation of the maps that will show the types of customers existing in each community. This is expected to become a useful tool for private sector investors who are interested in investing in off-grid generation and distribution assets in the rural areas of Nigeria. The project is ongoing.
