Please join me in congratulating Claire Coulter, AuD student, and Maria Sosa, SLP student, have been named to the 3rd Cohort of U-CHaMP Scholars!

U-CHaMP is designed to inspire and prepare future healthcare professionals to practice in rural Kansas. Throughout the year, Scholars participate in educational programming focused on the healthcare needs of rural and underserved communities, along with student success activities. Nine of this year's Scholars are from rural communities. In addition to the Scholars, more than 100 U-CHaMP Ambassadors are exploring health professions while learning about rural healthcare needs and opportunities in Kansas.

The 2nd annual Pickleball Tournament fundraiser to benefit JaySTART on Saturday, August 29th at SERV in Overland Park. Students are heavily encouraged to attend as it's a great social opportunity. It costs $40 per person, and includes a complimentary breakfast/brunch prior to play. They also will have numerous raffle prizes available from local business - tickets for the raffle can be purchased separately at the event.

Dear CSD Community,

Lauren Mann Ph.D. in the University of Kansas Medical Center Department of Hearing & Speech is conducting a research study evaluating what Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD) graduate students value in a clinical education experience and where those values align or misalign with preceptor values.

We are recruiting research participants to help us learn communication styles, feedback preference, and values in a clinical learning experience. Participation involves completing a short survey that will take about 2 minutes.

No identifiable information will be collected about you, and the survey is anonymous. In addition to the survey questions, we will request general information about your time in a CSD program as a student or preceptor, and for preceptors, your work area. The survey link is below and data will be stored in a REDCAP server. When you complete the survey, you will have the option of downloading a pdf to keep. The survey results will be written for publication and posted on www.kumc.edu/auralab following project completion.

There are no personal benefits or risks to participating in this study. Participation is voluntary, and you can stop taking the survey at any time. As a student, participating or declining will have no impact on your academic evaluations.
