The Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies at KU is dedicated to interdisciplinary education about Latin America and the Caribbean at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Kansas (KU) is distinguished by its quality and long term stability. f Education since 1976 and was designated and funded by the Dept of Ed as a Comprehensive National Resource Center on Latin America in 1983-1988; 1994-2006; and 2010-2014. Overview

Located in Bailey Hall, the Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies is home to KU's interdisciplinary academic programs on Latin America. The Center facilitates graduate research at home and abroad, sponsors events related to the region, and develops outreach resources for area educators. More than 100 core, affiliate, and research faculty members associated with the Center teach and research Latin America through a variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary prisms, and mentor students interested in the region. The Center supports the publication of a newsletter, the Kansas Latin Americanist, which highlights campus activities and faculty and student research on Latin America, and also publicizes new outreach materials and current funding, travel, and research opportunities.
