Several students from the Civil War and Reconstruction class spent their spring break traveling to historic sites and cities across Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. Throughout the week, 10 students and their two chaperones, Professor Travis Childs and Lori Edwards, were able to experience history firsthand as they walked the grounds of pivotal battlefields, visited museums, and explored places that shaped our nation.

The trip was educational, experiential, and incredibly meaningful, while also allowing time for students to enjoy great food, build new relationships, and take in the beauty of the areas they visited.

This opportunity was made possible through the generosity of donors to Cameron University, for which we are truly grateful. Also, a very special thank you goes to Professor Childs for the planning, coordination, leadership, and knowledge that he shared throughout this unforgettable experience.
