This week is the final week of fundraising for the 2018 TKE Beta Mu Reagan Run. Please consider donating!

Each year in October, the brothers of the Beta Mu chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon run in a 180-mile relay race. The first leg starts at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, and the last leg ends at the White House. In the past 5 years, we have raised more money for the Alzheimer's Association than any other chapter in the nation, totaling over $400,000. We strive each year to provide more and more to the Alzheimer’s Association. If you haven't designated all of your charitable giving this year, please consider this one!

In just 10 days time TKE - Beta Mu will be running their 13th annual Reagan Run. Each year, the brothers run a 182-mile relay from the steps of the TKE house to the White House in Washington D.C. Each year the money we raise goes towards the Alzheimer's Association and over the last two years we have totaled over $100,000 in donations! The Alzheimer's Association is a non-for- profit (501) (c) (3) organization so all donations are tax deductible.

Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in America, and more than five million Americans
struggle daily with its devastating symptoms. In the coming years, Alzheimer’s will affect an estimated
10 million baby boomers – bankrupting families, communities and our health care system – unless we do
something to stop it.

Through the Reagan Run, we hope to engage our peers in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease, as well as

TKE Beta Mu has created City of Lewisburg discount cards for those who donate $25+ to our annual fundraiser. All proceeds go directly to the Alzheimer's Association.

Find us this week at the Bertrand Library on the following days:
11:00am-1:00pm MWF
5:00pm-7:00pm MW

This effort is a part of our annual Reagan Run relay race event! In one month, the brothers of TKE will run from our chapter house at Bucknell University to the White House! This is a thrilling event to be a part of.

As the anticipation grows, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association. Our donation page will be available within the week.

Fraters,

We are extremely saddened by the news of the passing of George Kitchens. George has had an incredible impact on Beta Mu that spans many decades. He was named as our Chef-for-Life and an honorary brother. It is truly sad to see him go and he will always be remembered.

For anyone who has pictures of or with George, we would appreciate it if you could send them to us, so they can be passed along to George's daughter, Jody. Jody is hoping to collect as many photos as possible of George and see the incredible relationships that George formed during his time at TKE. We hope that we can send as much love and support that George gave the fraternity back to his family in this sad time.

For those interested, the funeral will be held Saturday, July 22nd at 3pm at the United Pentecostal Church located at 2822 Buffalo Road in Lewisburg. TKE Beta Mu in Washington D.C. for Reagan Run - raising $48,000 for the Alzheimer's Association!

On behalf of the Tau Kappa Epsilon chapter, we would like to extend a big thank you to all of the donations we received for this year's Reagan Run! After five weeks of hard work and fundraising, we were able to present the Alzheimer's Association with $45,000, with more donations trickling in even after the event. This event is a huge opportunity for us to raise awareness for the important cause of curing Alzheimer's, and we can not succeed without the generosity of our supporters.

We are excited to announce that TKE Beta Mu chapter has just been honored with four Excellence Awards for the 2015-2016 academic year! The Excellence awards consist of two recognitions in our recruitment efforts, for Chapter Size and Recruitment Results, as well as an award in Academic Success and one in Extracurricular Involvement. It was an absolute honor to receive these awards, and the chapter looks forward to continuing this trend of success in the fall!

Additionally, it comes with great privilege that I can announce that our very own Kyle DeViney won the Top TEKE Individual Award! This award is given to approximately 10 TEKEs out of more than 12,000 collegiate members.
