with our Director of Facility Management Ava Prater from Lexington, KY (AC ‘25)!!
“Going through recruitment, I was so nervous and anxious about finding a chapter that I could call home. I had no idea that Alpha Delta Pi would be all that and more! Since the beginning, I was greeted by women not just overflowing with kindness, but with a genuine passion to love and serve others. To be surrounded by women who strive for better is amazing, but to be surrounded by women who push you to be better is something truly special!
From the minute I walked through that light blue door, 476 Rose Street felt like more than just a house. From every study sesh to late night movie to long talks on the side porch, the ADPi house has been a true place of fellowship. The values of our chapter are so evident in the love shared within our house, and that is what encouraged me to run for Director of Facility Management.
This position has taught me the importance of taking initiative, believing in myself, and finding pride in even the smallest details that make our house feel more like home. From facilitating facility operations and ensuring the house remains safe and maintained to overseeing resident agreements and chapter dinners, I have learned that creating a positive living environment is built on countless behind the scene efforts. Being able to help create and live in a space with two AC’s where sisters feel welcomed, supported, and loved is an honor I will cherish forever!!
Most importantly, this position has been a constant reminder of the incredible sisterhood that surrounds me. Through every challenge, late night, and accomplishment, my sisters have been my biggest source of encouragement, always believing in me and cheering me on. Their unwavering support has shaped my experience in ways I can never fully put into words. Being able to give back to the women of Beta Psi after they have all given me so much is the biggest blessing!! Serving this chapter has been far more than a position, it has been an opportunity to pour back into the community that has become my home🩵🏠”
