Arrive before 1 p.m. in the Harris Ballroom at the Gatton Student Center for important updates, introductions and information to help you get ready for the year ahead. After the meeting, students will head to program-specific meetings in announced locations.

A single trip can change how students see the world and their place in it. 🧳 🧐

For architecture alum Patrick Fugeman, the School of Architecture's annual trip to Columbus, Indiana, opened his eyes to possibilities far beyond his small Kentucky hometown. Now, he's helping future students have that same transformative experience.

Through a recent gift, Fugeman will fund half the cost of the Columbus trip for the next five years, helping preserve a tradition that has inspired generations of UK architecture students to think bigger, dream further and see design in a new way.

UKCoD School of Architecture student Graeme Miracle spent the summer researching how an automatic turntable can give a palletizing robot new capabilities, opening up new possibilities for fabrication labs and makerspaces.

Big Blue Move-in is here, which means UK CoD's Wildcat Welcome is just a few days away.

On Thursday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., our incoming students will spend the day meeting their academic program, exploring the Gray Design Building, learning about key resources and getting to know their new design community. And yes, lunch and ice cream are included. 🍦

All incoming design students should receive an email detailing the day's schedule to their UK email later today. We can't wait to welcome the newest class of designers to UK. See you soon! 😺

Thoughtful design can make a meaningful difference. 💙

Assistant Professor Aanya Chugh's UKCoD School of Interiors students partnered with The Nest - Center for Women, Children and Families to reimagine its childcare space through trauma-informed design, creating concepts that support safety, comfort and emotional well-being for children and families facing crisis. Through hands-on learning and community collaboration, students explored how thoughtful design can create meaningful change beyond the classroom.

Some of the most important design lessons happen with a hard hat on. 👷 🛠️ 🏠

Working alongside faculty and peers from UK Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment , University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension , the UK Robinson Center and beyond, students gained hands-on experience while serving Kentucky communities. Experiences like this prepare the next generation of designers for the collaborative, multidisciplinary work they'll take on throughout their careers.
