David Stephenson, associate professor in the School of Journalism and Media, won the Silver Award for Faculty Photography for a Single Photo in the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication's (AEJMC) Festival of Visual & Interactive Media.

Stephenson's photo, titled "No Kings Protest," placed in the top three faculty awards in the contest, created by the Visual Communication Division, in partnership with several other AEJMC divisions. The photo is from coverage of the No Kings protest in Lexington, Kentucky, in 2025, which Stephenson covered for the non-profit news outlet Kentucky Lantern.

Congratulations to 2020 alum Camron Brown, who just earned a spot on the 2026 Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Impact list! ๐ŸŽ‰

Camron Brown didnโ€™t just set out to build a fintech company. He set out to solve a problem he couldnโ€™t escape.

After facing months-long delays during his own disability claim, the 2020 CI alumnus found himself confronting a reality shared by millions of Americans: medical or caregiving leave can trigger immediate financial collapse long before benefits arrive.

That experience led Brown to co-found Counter Fin with Kaelaan Maynor through Silicon Valley-based startup accelerator Y Combinators Co-Founder Matching Program.

This partnership eventually landed them on the 2026 Forbes 30 Under 30 Social Impact list.
