We serve alumni, parent, and friends of Washington and Lee University by creating, promoting, and managing short-term educational programs for the adult learner. Our Alumni College programs offer weekend and weeklong programs on campus. The W&L Traveller offers a broad variety of educational travel programs each year to all parts of the world.

The whales are beckoning us north to the wildlife-rich mouth of the Churchill River on the Hudson Bay. There we will partake in one of the most unique nature and wildlife experiences in North America, where polar bears search the shores and the belugas show off within feet of boaters and kayakers. From sunrise at Angkor Wat to evenings along the Mekong, our Washington and Lee Lifelong Learning travelers shared an unforgettable journey through Vietnam and Cambodia.

We rode cyclos through Phnom Penh, glided across the Angkor Thom moat, explored ancient temples, and experienced the beauty of Khmer culture through music and dance. Along the way, there were moments of awe, reflection, and plenty of laughter.

With guidance from Tim Lubin and Laure Stevens-Lubin, the history, art, and traditions of Southeast Asia came alive in meaningful ways.

Grateful for the memories made, the places explored, and the people who made this journey so special. 🌏

We spent the weekend discussing The Nickel Boys, a powerful novel whose impact extends far beyond its harrowing story—touching on the very fabric of our education, incarceration, and reparation systems. Faculty and participants engaged deeply with the book’s themes, exploring the legal and ethical questions it raises, as well as its historical context and film adaptation. 📕

We are grateful to the professors who led these thoughtful discussions and to all participants who supported this program! We encourage our Washington and Lee community to join us for future conversations that inspire learning, reflection, and connection.
