University of Kentucky College of Public Health

University of Kentucky College of Public Health Advancing public health, for Kentucky, for all. IMAGINE A WORLD WHERE EVERY COMMUNITY has a Passion, Purpose, and Pathway for a Healthier Life.

Public health is about building bridges and bringing people together. We look at events, situations, and circumstances that are impacting health across their community and beyond and think, “What can I do to make a positive change?” Many want to help people but sometimes are not sure where to start. Public Health is the best place to start! Public health is the fulfillment of society’s interest in

being healthy. Public health’s mission is to leave the world a healthier place for the next generation. This mission is met through our three core functions: assessment, assurance, and policy development. Furthermore, public health prevents disease, prolongs life, and promotes health for everyone. Our team of public health ambassadors and champions are all making positive, equitable, and redefining change in order to make our communities healthier, safer, and stronger. Ready to build a healthier world with us by building bridges? Then you belong here! Our vision is catalyzing positive change for public health. Our mission is developing public health leaders, conduct innovative and impactful research, and collaborate with partners to improve public health in Kentucky and beyond.

The UK College of Public Health is proud to celebrate the Spring 2026 students who made the Dean's List!

Undergraduate students are eligible for the Dean's List by earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credit hours for a letter grade.

Please note that missing or late posting grades may result in a student being omitted from the list. Students who believe their name was mistakenly omitted should contact their academic advisor for further assistance. Students also have the option to opt out of this recognition, and those who have done so would not be reflected on the list.

Fourteen days after graduating from the UK College of Public Health, Morgan Brooke will board a plane for South America and begin her next chapter living out her dream of becoming a Peace Corps volunteer.

She will spend three months in training followed by two years working as a public health promoter in rural communities. There, Brooke will partner with local health workers, schools and families to address issues such as malnutrition, nutrition access and mental health.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Showcase 2026. Students, faculty, staff, and partners shared work that reflects the reach of public health across Kentucky. We’re grateful to all who presented posters, engaged in conversations, and helped make this year’s event a meaningful space for learning and connection.

A special thank‑you to our panel, A Youth Health Coalition in Action: Lessons from Lawrence County, featuring the Lawrence County High School Youth Health Coalition.

Their conversation on youth leadership and community impact was an inspiring reminder of the power of student voices in public health.

Our students are working hard to build our new home for the UK College of Public Health but they need your help!🔨

With your donation on One Day for UK we are one step closer to our goal. Plus you will:
-🏗️Have your name added to the walls of our new building
-🏆Propel us to victory over other colleges for bonus prize money
-📈Help unlock the Dean’s Challenge for $5,000 more for CPH

All donors who join us on One Day for UK will have their name etched into the walls of a space inside the Rankin Health Education Building.

Our new home will shape how future public health leaders learn, collaborate and serve Kentucky and beyond. Today, alumni and friends can help leave a permanent mark on that future.
