Congratulations to our very own Dr. Rachel Shane for being recognized for her achievements in Graduate Education with the University of Kentucky’s prestigious Sturgill Award.

Dr. Rachel Shane, Associate Dean and Chair of UKY Arts Administration, received the William B. Sturgill Award at a ceremony last week. Presented annually to a graduate faculty member who demonstrates exceptional commitment to graduate education at UK, this award reflects Shane’s dedication to empowering students and advancing the arts. Shane is only the second recipient from the College of Fine Arts since the award’s creation in 1975. Also, she is the first honoree whose work has been exclusively with online graduate students. This milestone highlights both her leadership and the growing impact of online education.

Join us in celebrating this well‑deserved recognition and Shane's outstanding contributions to our graduate community. 👏🎉
