Do you want to work with persons who have autism? Check out The Bradley Center. Positions available are below. If you are interested, email Dr. Phillips at [email protected] and he can send you job requirements and benefits.
The Bradley Center is a residential treatment facility (RTF), in Robinson PA, that houses close to a hundred residents, between four different units, that are receiving mental healthcare services due to various mental health diagnosis. Along with the residential services, we also have an alternative school that serves about another hundred students combined with that of the RTF. The purpose of my email is to develop a working relationship with educators such as yourself to help students find the employment opportunities that we have to offer and allow them to gain some exposure to various diagnosis prior to graduation. I found this job an integral part of my educational process as I was able to apply what I was being taught in the classroom to real life and have since gone to further my career in mental health because of this experience. I was hoping that you would be able to share with your students the opportunities that The Bradley Center has to offer. I have attached the requirements and benefits for a variety of positions that may be of relevance for your reference and distribution if you see fit.
Child Development Specialist (CDS), which is a direct care position within our residential program. This would be good for individuals seeking positions in the mental health field such as psychology, social work, sociology, etc.
Case Manager, which has less interactions with the residents but much more involved in the interagency involvement, as they will be working with caseworkers and other involved parties to coordinate meetings as well as discharge resources. This may be more social work focused, however similar degrees are eligible.
Teachers Assistant (TA), which is more school based but will have a crossover between school and the residential side so this might be geared more toward individuals with a background in special education or other education-based programs, however not required.
Autism Support Teacher, which is more obviously a position that requires a degree in special education and autism certification. With, this is more a specified position within the education department.
Special Education Teacher, which is like that of the Autism Support Teacher, except for the ASD certification.
Mental Health Therapist, which is a graduate level position within the residential facility that works to provide individual, family, and group therapy to the individuals within our care. This does require a master’s degree in counseling or another related field.
