The Muslims of Metro Atlanta have been dreaming of a full-time Islamic school for a long time. The dream has now turned into a reality as The City of Knowledge Islamic School began its 2006 school year in August. The City of Knowledge is committed to provide the caliber of education that will match or exceed the academic excellence provided by some of the finest private schools in the State of Georgia along with augmenting essential moral behavior that is a key to achieving human excellence. The City of Knowledge is supervised by a group of Muslims who are serving as educators in the State of Georgia and include professors from Emory University and Georgia Tech; thus providing additional assurance that our children will be in good hands.

🚔 A big thank you to the firefighters who visited City of Knowledge! They engaged with students and teachers, sharing important safety information and helping the school community learn how to stay safe. The school is grateful for these community helpers and the heroes who protect us every day! 👏❤️

🧩 Learning history and geography, one piece at a time! Our first graders are mastering the map of the United States by putting it all together! 🇺🇸

This week, we are taking a hands-on approach to social studies. There is nothing quite like watching 6 and 7-year-olds collaborate, problem-solve, and figure out exactly how our giant country locks together piece by piece.
Why we love map puzzles in first grade:

• 🧠 Spatial Reasoning: Helping little minds understand how different states border one another and where they sit regionally.

• 🤝 Teamwork & Problem Solving: Watching them cheer when they finally fit California, Texas, or our very own home state into the right spot!

• 🎨 Visual Anchors: Connecting each state’s shape with the fun illustrations, landmarks, and landmarks that make our country unique.

📚✨ Learning letters is more fun when you can touch, trace and create! This week, Miss Tahreem’s Pre-K class at City of Knowledge School explored literacy through art, play and sensory science. Tactile sand trays turned practicing letters and sounds into a joyful, hands-on learning experience! 🌟✏️

Thinking, building, and learning one side at a time! 🟩📐 Our Pre-K little learners are master builders in training as they construct squares using wooden craft sticks!
This hands-on math activity helps our students visualize lines, count vertices, and understand that a square has four equal sides. Combining coloring with tangible construction makes early geometry concepts stick! 🪵🧠
