Starting an online graduate program comes with plenty of decisions. Whether students are getting started, choosing a specialization, planning courses or looking for support, our advisors have their backs.

Leon de Winter came to Nebraska from the Netherlands to play baseball at Ogallala and UNK. Now a regional scout for the Miami Marlins in Scottsdale, Arizona, he recently met with advisor Dawn Bodine as he begins his online MBA at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. We’re glad to have you in the Husker family, Leon!

Congratulations to Connor Devish, '20 & '26, of Papillion, Nebraska, who just graduated with his M.S. in Finance. He works as an investment consultant for Charles Schwab, helping people make investing decisions.

"It’s incredibly rewarding knowing that I’m helping people reach the goals they’ve been working toward. These courses helped me have a deeper understanding of finance that I get to pass along to my clients every day."

Devish said the master's courses were challenging but rewarding as he could take one class at a time.

"All of the finance faculty do an incredible job teaching, but a few professors stood out who have an exceptional passion for finance and really inspired me to continue to learn and love finance. I’d like to mention Stas Nikolova for fixed income analysis and Roberto Stein for teaching quantitative methods. They didn’t just teach me the material; they reminded me why I picked finance in the first place."

While in his program, August MBA graduate Stephen Hinnerichs of Omaha took advantage of several in-person opportunities to connect with his classmates and professors, including the Adaptive Leadership course and the MBA in Barcelona study abroad trip.

Congratulations on your achievements!
