Employment Opportunity: Immigration Social Worker
National Association of Social Workers

The Center for Immigrant and Refugee Advancement (CIRA) is hiring an Immigration Social Worker in Lincoln, Nebraska. This non-clinical position uses a trauma-informed, therapeutic lens to provide case management and support to unaccompanied minors and their families.

The social worker will conduct assessments, develop individualized service plans, provide crisis intervention, connect families with community resources, and help clients navigate systems such as immigration court, schools, healthcare, housing, and other essential services.

CIRA is open to considering applicants who are currently earning their BSW or MSW, provided they have relevant work experience. Because of the responsibilities involved, this position would likely be challenging as someone’s first professional job. CIRA may also consider a 30-hour-per-week schedule for a student who does not wish to work full time.
Please note that full fluency in both English and Spanish is required, as all work is conducted with Spanish-speaking families. Applicants must also have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. The position includes regular travel throughout Nebraska and Southwest Iowa.

Additional details:
Location: Lincoln, Nebraska
Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; a 30-hour schedule may be considered
Pay: $25.00–$31.25 per hour, based on experience
