Twenty-nine high school juniors and seniors from six states at the Discover Accounting high school program took the first step toward their future careers in accounting or business. Students explored opportunities in the accounting field, worked on projects with current accounting students and networked with industry professionals.

"Our professionals they interacted with were impressed with the questions they asked and how engaged they were. They're a competitive bunch," said Jill Trucke, associate professor of practice in accountancy and camp organizer.

Anderson, Baird Family Professor of Economics and executive director of the Central Plains Federal Statistical Research Data Center, elevated the reputation of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln through his research and advising in public finance, fiscal reform and tax policy.

Now retiring, he leaves a legacy carried forward by generations of students he taught and mentored who now work all over the world.

We're saddened to share that Sanford “Sandy” Grossbart, professor emeritus of marketing, died May 15 at age 82. A nationally recognized scholar in macromarketing and consumer behavior, he served as chair of the Department of Marketing for more than 18 years and was recently inducted into the American Marketing Association Hall of Fame.
