👻🎃 Scares, Scrubs, & Scavenger Hunts! 🩺🧡

Our UWA Nursing students got into the Halloween spirit with a fun-filled scavenger hunt around our building! From solving clues to working together, our future nurses enjoyed a little spooky competition and lots of laughs!

Mrs. Logan and Mrs. Nelson had a wonderful time attending the Mississippi HOSA event in Jackson, MS!!!!

It was an exciting opportunity to share all that the UWA College of Nursing & Health Professions has to offer and meet over 1,000 students!

🩺🧸 Learning by doing! Our nursing students participated in an active learning and skills lab focused on pediatric nursing, building their knowledge, hands-on skills, and confidence as they prepare to care for our littlest patients. ♥️

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💗

We celebrated with pink lemonade, sweet treats, and breast cancer awareness pins! 💕

Our Senior Respiratory Therapy students recently had two wonderful opportunities to learn from professionals in the field!

Students participated in a Mechanical Ventilator Inservice featuring the Getinge Servo U ventilator. A special THANK YOU to Scott Small, RRT, Critical Care Clinical Specialist, and the Getinge Group for sharing their time, knowledge, and expertise with our students!

Students also enjoyed a virtual presentation from Chrysalis Ashton, MSRC, RRT, Head of Respiratory Clinical Affairs and Industry Relations at Drive Medical and the 2026 AARC Specialty Practitioner of the Year for Ambulatory and Post-Acute Care. Her presentation highlighted the important role respiratory therapists play in home health care and improving patients' quality of life.

Learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom! 🩺

UWA Nursing and UWA Respiratory Therapy students participated in an interprofessional collaborative simulation to prepare for real-world clinical practice. Working together, students used clinical judgment and critical thinking to identify assessment findings, apply clinical reasoning, and prioritize interventions.

Hands-on experiences like this give future healthcare professionals the opportunity to gain confidence, strengthen teamwork, and put their knowledge into action! ❤️🩺🏥🐅
