Breastfeeding supports infant growth, strengthens immunity, fosters a powerful bond, and benefits maternal health. UWA Association of Nursing Students is highlighting Cord Blood Awareness Month this July, educating the public on the life-saving potential of cord blood collected at birth. Rich in stem cells, cord blood can be used to treat a variety of serious conditions, including blood disorders and certain cancers. From the College of Nursing to our community: a simple choice at birth can give the gift of life, learn more, share hope, and make a difference.

Congratulations to one of our amazing faculty members Dr. Chineda Hill 🥰 so deserving and we are blessed to have you as a part of our team! 🐅❤️🩺

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT 👏🌟🏆: Congratulations to Dr. Chineda Hill ’04, who recently received AUCON’s 2026 Black Alumni Award. Given annually by the Auburn Alumni Association, the Black Alumni Awards recognize a recipient from each of Auburn’s 12 colleges for outstanding achievements in their professional lives, personal integrity, and stature and service to the university.

Dr. Hill is a professor of nursing and course coordinator for Foundations of Nursing Practice II at the University of West Alabama, where she has taught since 2012. A certified clinical nurse leader, Dr. Hill was a medical-surgical nurse from 1995 to 2010 before becoming an education coordinator at DCH Health Systems.

We are so proud of Dr. Hill and the work she has done at the bedside as well as in the classroom inspiring and encouraging future nurses.
