OTHER MOMMY is already being compared to a live action CORALINE, with Jessica Chastain transforming into a deeply unsettling doppelgänger known as the “Other Mommy.”

The film follows eight year old Bela as a sinister entity begins appearing inside her home wearing the face and voice of her real mother. Chastain plays both Ursula and the monstrous presence, with Rob Savage directing from Josh Malerman’s novel INCIDENTS AROUND THE HOUSE.

Despite viral claims, the full film has not yet received an official 18 or R rating. What is confirmed is that its disturbing trailer left some moviegoers warning others about the imagery after it played before THE ODYSSEY.

Produced by James Wan and arriving in cinemas on October 9, OTHER MOMMY is already positioning itself as one of the most disturbing major horror releases of 2026.
