Southern WV Community and Technical College Faculty Member Attends Great Teacher Conference at Lake Bend
Logan, W.Va. — Kelly Warren, Director of Cosmetology and Salon Management at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College, recently participated in the Great Teacher Conference at Lake Bend, an event dedicated to advancing excellence in teaching and learning.
Warren described the conference as a transformative professional development experience that provided valuable opportunities to connect with educators from a wide range of institutions. Throughout the event, participants shared innovative ideas, explored emerging teaching strategies, and collaborated on approaches to enhance student success in both traditional and online learning environments.
“Attending the Great Teacher Conference at Lake Bend has been a truly transformative experience,” Warren said. “I’ve had the joy of meeting inspiring colleagues from a variety of institutions, each bringing unique perspectives and a shared passion for elevating student learning.”
The conference featured dynamic workshops, engaging presentations, and collaborative discussions focused on effective instructional practices. Participants exchanged ideas on creating inclusive, student-centered learning environments and explored tools designed to increase engagement and accessibility for diverse student populations.

Warren plans to incorporate the knowledge and resources gained at the conference into Southern’s Cosmetology and Salon Management programs, further enhancing educational experiences and supporting student achievement.
