Our Resiliency Institute for Childhood Adversity (RICA) secured $1 million as part of Californiaβs recently signed budget bill, AB 113, bolstering RICAβs efforts to provide services for children and youth that experience adverse life events.
Led by Dr. Amy Young, chief of the Division of Forensic Pediatrics at LLUCH, RICA offers clinical support to children who experience abuse, homelessness, parental incarceration, and other traumatic situations.
The new funding will specifically support RICAβs educational advocacy program, which LLUH formally integrated into its work earlier this year, called Loma Linda RICA Academy.
