“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” - Hebrews 6:10

LLU SAHP faculty from Communication Sciences and Disorders, Physical Therapy, and Nutrition and Dietetics recently collaborated with colleagues at Scheer Memorial Adventist Hospital in Nepal to exchange knowledge, strengthen clinical practice and support the growth of local healthcare teams.
Together, they worked on speech and swallowing cases, including cleft palate, stroke rehabilitation and nutrition education. The broader team also provided Kangaroo Care training, helped improve the NICU environment for mothers and babies, and participated in Love Sharing, offering services at community health clinics and helping clean up local neighborhoods.

We are so proud of our team for representing our school's values so well and living out what it means to lead, to heal and to serve.

We’re only two weeks into the term, and our Radiation Technology department students are already putting support into practice! 🤍

Second-year students are helping first-year students develop essential skills for their future clinical work. They’re learning to move and align the X-ray tube, operate the bucky and imaging table, and practice proper patient positioning. With second-year students serving as practice patients and lab assistants, first-year students can also develop their patient communication skills, learn equipment control, and practice the fundamentals of performing radiographic examinations safely and accurately.

These hands-on experiences help students build confidence with the equipment, connect classroom lessons to clinical practice, and learn from peers who have been in their shoes.

When the infamous Palisades Fire destroyed Robin Ungar’s home, it also destroyed her 2021 Communication Sciences and Disorders Distinguished Alumna Award from LLU's School of Allied Health Professions, an honor that held deep meaning for her. After the fire, she reached out to her alma mater to ask if it could be replaced.

What happened next became a moment she and our school will not soon forget. Our Alumni and Philanthropy teams made sure Robin received a new award, and when they presented it to her, she felt something that went far beyond the award itself. She described it as “an incredible spirit of love.”

At last week's 2026 OT Research Colloquium our students put their research on display and shared what they've been working on with an auditorium filled with guests.
The evening began in the auditorium where speakers and students presented before bringing posters out for attendees to explore and discuss. Watching our students speak about their work with confidence offered a sentimental glimpse at the bright future of occupation therapy taking shape right here at Loma Linda University.

For years, the LLU School of Allied Health Professions has partnered with the Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House to help provide comfort and resources to the families they serve. As part of the LLUH community, the Ronald McDonald House offers a home away from home for families with children receiving care at LLU Children’s Hospital and throughout the Inland Empire.

Join us in continuing that tradition by donating food and household essentials through August 31st. Swipe to see the full list of items that are needed most, then drop your donations in the pink and teal bins in Nichol Hall’s upper and lower rotundas. ❤️

Some examples of most needed items include:
🧻 Paper plates, bowls, cups and towels
🧼 Dish soap, hand soap, sponges and cleaning supplies
🧺 Laundry detergent and dryer sheets
🍼 Baby wipes and infant toys
