Please give a warm welcome to Mariel Carrasco, our new Social Media Coordinator alongside Jessie Cao! She’s currently pursuing a BFA in Graphic Design. Say hi to Mariel ()! 💘

Mariel is currently a 4th year graphic design student but there have been many struggles she’s faced that have led to where she is today. Art wasn’t something she originally tried to pursue. She was focused on a different major until she came across the opportunity to be taught by a CSULB Graphic Design Alum. Through them Mariel was able to learn more about designing and branding and that inspired her to pursue graphic design as well. One of Mariel’s goals is to be able to explore more in that field as well as being able to work in interior design. She states that she doesn’t have many hobbies other than photography since she spends most of her time working or traveling.

Please give a warm welcome to Vivian Lam, our new Treasurer! She’s currently pursuing a BA in Design and Minor in Graphic Design. Say hi to Vivian (.lambchop)! 💘

As a child, Vivian loved watching cartoons and anime, and her creativity sparked from trying to draw a character from a show. She realized it wasn't that bad, so she continued drawing and doodling. However, she didn't really got into graphic design until she started taking design classes at PCC. That is where she found her passion and decided to pursue a career in design. Outside of design, she loves collecting cute Japanese blind boxes, enjoys eating out with friends, and catching up on sleep.

Please give a warm welcome to Diana Nguyen, our new Secretary-in-Training! She will be taking over as Secretary when Jane Shuieh graduates in Fall 2022. Diana is currently pursuing a BFA in Graphic Design. Say hi to Diana ( )! 💘

Growing up, Diana was always drawn by art and learning different art techniques. It wasn’t until her high school years that she found her interest in graphic design. She remembers it all started with Canva where she used it to design flyers for club events. Luckily, Diana pursued her studies in graphic design in college and discovered the power of Illustrator and Photoshop. While doing both college and previous work experience at a design agency, she found that she really enjoys creating packaging design, branding, UX/UI, and editorial designs! Currently, Diana is working at a real estate agency. She loves working in a team environment and seeing how everyone’s art style can come together cohesively. Outside of design, you can find Diana binging Netflix shows, anime, and Korean dramas, playing games such as Valorant or League of Legends, and building custom mechanical keyboards!

Please give a warm welcome to Jane Shuieh, our returning Secretary! She’s currently pursuing a BFA in Graphic Design and Minor in Marketing. Say hi to Jane (.sh_ .design)! 💘

Graphic Design was never a career Jane thought she would pursue before she went to CSULB, but she was always drawn to beautiful, innovative packaging and interesting typography. Currently, she wants to branch out into digital work such as UI/UX and Motion Design, as there is such to explore and learn without creating too much waste! She also wants to learn more about Art Direction as she would love to learn on how to be a leader for a team and convey her ideas to other artists. She’s a current senior BFA student with a Minor in Marketing, and hopefully will be on track to get a Masters related to her interests. Outside of design, she LOVES traveling, trying new foods, and playing with dogs.
