Still looking for housing for the 2026-2027 academic year? Our general application is open for all students, new and returning, with NO current waitlist (as of Friday, May 22, 2026).

New students, this is your chance to live at The Beach and benefit from convenient access to campus, supportive staff, and programs and events to help you make connections and start your Beach Journey off strong. 

Have you lived with us before? Return to the halls to continue your Beach Journey! Returners currently waitlisted will be getting an email within the next week confirming your spot for next academic year, so make sure to reach out to us ASAP if you are no longer interested in living on-campus.

It’s time for us to wave goodbye! 🌊👋

Our buildings are closed for the summer as of 11am this morning. Thank you for a wonderful year! Our buildings will now be home to summer school residents and various conferences and specialty groups such as the Special Olympics staff and athletes and the Summer Bridge Program.

The Summer Housing application is now open!  🏠☀️
 
Summer Housing is available only to students who are enrolled in courses with in‑person components for their coursework. Applicants are required to submit full payment for the session they are applying for at the time the application is completed. All listed costs are for a double room and include the 21‑Meal Plan (21 meals per week).
 
The 12‑Week Session (Full Summer) is $5,436. Classes run from Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, August 14. Move‑in is Sunday, May 24 from Noon–5pm, and move‑out is Friday, August 14 from 8am–11am.
 
The 1st 6‑Week Session is $2,718. Classes run from Tuesday, May 26 through Thursday, July 2. Move‑in is Sunday, May 24 from Noon–5pm, and move‑out is Thursday, July 2 from 8am–11am.
 
The 2nd 6‑Week Session is $2,718. Classes run from Monday, July 6 through Friday, August 14. Move‑in is Sunday, July 5 from Noon–5pm, and move‑out is Friday, August 14 from 8am–11am.

Looking for an on campus living environment centered around common personal, social, and intellectual interests? Take a look at our Thematic Communities! Our six thematic communities provide unique experiences through programming, student support, and workshops to help students develop support networks through meaningful discussions and engagement opportunities. All students, regardless of s*x, race, color, national origin, or any other protected identity, are welcome and eligible to participate in the thematic communities.

Our six communities and their locations for the 2026-2027 academic year are listed below. Make sure to answer the thematic community application questions in your housing applications to be considered!

Conoce nuestras Villas Residenciales en donde viven nuestros estudiantes y hablaremos sobre los tipos de habitaciones, los recursos disponibles y cómo es la vida viviendo en el campus. Acompáñanos en un recorrido completamente en español.

The housing application for new applicants is now open, priority deadline is 11:59 PM on May 1st!
 
To apply, you must be admitted to CSULB and have a MyCSULB account set up. Students who are waitlisted to CSULB are not eligible to apply for housing.
 
All applications received before May 1st will be prioritized based upon distance to campus. If you apply by May 1st but our initial capacity has been reached due to the distance calculator, you may be placed on the waitlist. All applications received after May 1st will be placed on a waitlist based upon date of application.
 
Applicants must pay the $50 non-refundable application fee and $275 initial payment for application to be considered complete.

Premium single rooms, located in Parkside North and Hillside La Playa, are limited in availability. They are slightly smaller than our standard room size at around 12.5’x8.5’ and will vary slightly by building location. Premium singles share communal style restrooms with 34-37 other residents as well as single stall open gender restrooms.

Standard single rooms, located in the Hillside letter buildings, are limited in availability. They are slightly smaller than our standard room size at around 12.5’x8.5’ and may vary slightly by building location. Our standard single rooms share a suite style restroom with up to 6 other residents.
