Say hello to Helen Cameron, CSULB Library’s new Access Services Librarian!

Helen received her BA in English Literature from Mills College and her MLIS from SJSU. After more than a decade of growing within the department, Helen is stepping into her new role focused on staff development, communication, and equitable access to library resources.

Say hello to Marcelo Martir, our new Lecturer at the University Library! 🎉

Marcelo began his career in libraries in a pilot program in library science at the Claremont Colleges Library while completing his Bachelor in English. After developing an interest in academic librarianship, he pursued his MLIS degree at UCLA. While there, he served as a Library Student Research Assistant and interned as an Information Literacy Intern at Cal State Channel Islands and a Librarian Student Intern at CSULB. As a new Lecturer, he is working on collection development and helping out at the reference desk. He is excited to return to CSULB and build connections with patrons, staff, and faculty.

Please join us in congratulating Jessica McBride on her new role as Engineering and AI Librarian at the University Library!

Jessica previously served as our Assistant Librarian, and we’re thrilled to see her take on this exciting new position.
