Pacific Coast University, School of Law Located in Long Beach, CA, PCU has educated hundreds of students throughout Southern California.

If you are a working adult looking for a quality, affordable, evening law school in Southern California, Pacific Coast University, School of Law should be at the top of your list. Located in Long Beach, CA, our law school has educated hundreds of students throughout the Orange County and Los Angeles area since 1927, before the California State Bar even existed. Our alumni are practicing attorneys

and leaders in the legal community, many of whom work in public service around Los Angeles and Orange County. We pride ourselves on the quality education provided by our expert faculty, who are all successful, real-world professionals. In addition, our small class sizes set us apart from most law schools across the United States. We believe that smaller classes, with no more than 40 students, offer a more intimate setting and allow for valuable one-on-one interactions between professors and students.

Dear PCU Community,

It is with profound sorrow that we share the news of the passing of Professor Peter Lee.

For over two decades, Professor Lee was a pillar of the PCU community — an esteemed educator, mentor and colleague. After earning his B.S. from California State University, Long Beach, he continued his academic journey at Pacific Coast University, School of Law, where he graduated as valedictorian — an early reflection of the excellence that would define his career.

Throughout his tenure, Professor Lee held many roles at PCU, each marked by his deep commitment to legal education and the students he so passionately served. He retired in 2024, and his absence has been deeply felt ever since.

Those who knew Professor Lee will remember him not only for his remarkable intellect, but also for his unwavering dedication to his students. He was a teacher in the truest sense — wise, thought provoking, kind and wholly devoted to the craft of shaping future legal minds. He was a force within the classroom and beyond.

We join our community in mourning the loss of a man whose contributions to legal education and to PCU were immeasurable. His legacy lives on in the countless students whose lives he touched.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Professor Lee’s family, friends and the many students who admired him. He will be deeply missed, and forever remembered.

Best regards,

Basil G. Dezes,
Dean, President and Professor of Law
