The California State University, Long Beach College of Health and Human Services offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in a wide range of disciplines.

Our national and international reputation will attract and retain a richly diverse, high-quality faculty whose students-centered teach

ing, research, and collaborations in the campus and global communities will be well recognized and rewarded. This sense of academic community will nurture and support faculty of distinction throughout their careers. CHHS will reshape its academic programs to reflect societal needs with resources developed in collaborations with our community partners to enhance quality. These expanding resources will provide a new building which includes state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, clinical and faculty office space and equipment to serve the students, faculty and community of the CHHS, allowing CHHS to become a leader in providing professional doctoral degrees in specific disciplines. The CHHS alumni network will be stronger than ever. Alumni will express feeling transformed by their experiences in CSULB and commit themselves to ensuring the same level of excellence for future students. The alumni network will be substantially involved in the College by contracting and recruiting other alums and by building a community of organizations and individuals committed to the long term financial stability of the college.

Jocelyn Peña was 1 of 30 students across the country selected as an American Heart Association Hispanic Student Institutions (HSI) Scholar for the Class of 2022-2023! 👏

Jocelyn, who will be graduating this spring with a degree in Health Science - Community Health and School Health Education, had the opportunity to conduct research, learn and work with health care professionals, and connect with other students who are working hard to overcome the barriers of being first generation.

Did you know that in addition to his teaching duties, CSULB Professor Dr. Kamiar Alaei and his brother Dr. Arash Alaei are helping to aid the humanitarian crisis in Iran? They are providing telehealth visits to protestors in Iran who are being brutally treated for standing up against women's rights injustices in the region.

Two CHHS students will be speaking at the TEDxCSULB conference this Saturday, November 12!

Jun Li, a graduate student in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and Charisma Mangahas, a Kinesiology student, will be addressing this year’s conference theme, Navigating the Unknown, through their own personal experiences and journeys.
