🍎 Rescuing Food, Reducing Hunger, & Empowering Students: First of our Community Partner Narrative series ✨
Our incredible community partner Food Finders has been on a single mission: to eliminate hunger and food waste across Southern California. What started as a kitchen-table operation in 1989 has grown into one of the region’s largest food rescue nonprofits, partnering with 600 food donors to deliver fresh food to 300 nonprofits the very same day! 🚚🥦
Food Finders is a dynamic classroom for CSULB students looking to make a real-world difference through programs like College Corps @ The Beach and Service-Learning by taking on essential initiatives while developing dynamic skills. 🧑🏫
Take a look at Josephine Nguyen, a second year College Corps fellow and International Studies major who has progressed from managing special events to working directly on crucial fund development and grants. Her supervisor notes that she has gained so much experience, Food Finders hopes to hire her right after graduation! 🎓⭐️
