Want to get involved in Long Beach's community while also getting paid? Well, now you can! The Long Beach Community Internship Program (LBCIP) application is officially open, and we're excited to see the next wave of students who want to make a difference in their community.

LBCIP is a one semester commitment (Spring 2027), paid internship program that connects CSULB undergraduates to community partners and local nonprofit organizations. With this program, you'll get:
- ✨ 90 hours of meaningful work (about 6-8 hours a week)
- 🎓 3-units of course credit for Spring 2027
- 💼 Access to professional development and networking training
- 💵 $2,000 participation award after completing your internship

📅 To apply: Submit an online application DUE by Oct 12 (link in bio).

Would you like to get involved in Long Beach's local community? Join us at our campus-wide event, Connecting at the Beach, where faculty and students can talk with our community partners first-hand about volunteer and internship opportunities in the area.

The event will take place on Tuesday, September 29th from 11am-2pm in the North Quad (near the Library). We'll have free snacks, hands-on activities, and school supplies for Service Learning and Academic Internship students. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Happy Labor Day, Sharks! This holiday, we encourage you to take a look back at the history of Labor Day and explore how this day came to be. While the origin of Labor Day can sometimes be overlooked, today is an opportunity to recognize the contributions of the workers who helped shape our communities and fought for the rights we have today.

Whether you’re spending the day with family and friends or relaxing at home, we hope you enjoy the holiday and stay safe. As a reminder, the CSULB campus and offices will be closed for the day.
