Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia: Kappa Omicron Chapter

The local Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia chapter at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach.

KAPPA OMICRON HISTORY
Throughout the early '80s Kappa Omicron was a major power house in Southern California, chartered at California State University, Long Beach. With the university's decision to disband the marching program in 1993, the chapter fell to inactivity for many years. In the Fall of 2005, the Kappa Omicron chapter was reinstated into Phi Mu Alpha as a colony. Throughout the semester

they ran as the Kappa Omicron colony entering Phase I, entering Phase II in the Spring of 2006. With the help of the music department and 24 other students, Kappa Omicron was re-chartered at Cal State Long Beach. On May 6, 2006, the former colony, now a chapter, initiated 23 brothers who worked hard to keep the momentum they started during the colonization phase.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Dr. Carolyn Bremer. Dr. Bremer was one of the most intelligent, insightful, and caring individuals we have had the pleasure of getting to know around the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music. Many students were heavily impacted through her wisdom and teachings, and we shall never forget her and her years of dedication to make the Conservatory a better place.

May her family seek comfort and peace during this difficult time. Thoughts and prayers from the brothers of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. May she Rest In Peace.
