Joining Alpha Phi showed me that no matter where you are in life or how scary a new beginning might feel, you can always find genuine connections and people who make you feel at home. SUNDAY SPOTLIGHT 💕

“Hi! My name is Taylor McVeigh, and I’m the founder of TYDE Swim 🌞🩷

I launched TYDE at 18, while I was a senior in high school, after having the idea for a few years and finally deciding to take the leap! I developed my own swimwear patterns and colors, and getting to see them turn into what they are today has been SO COOL!

I wanted to create high-quality swimwear with sustainability in mind, so every piece is made in California in small batches. We only produce what we expect to sell to avoid overproduction and keep our swimwear out of landfills.

Within our first week of launching, TYDE was already in its first in-person retail location, and we’ve been growing ever since!! Seeing my vision finally come to life has been so so surreal, and I’m so excited for everything still to come for TYDE! :))”

154 years of Alpha Phi, and a lifetime of sisterhood 🤍

In 1872, ten women at Syracuse University came together to create a sisterhood built on friendship, support, and the courage to make their own place in higher education. Their vision became the Alpha Phi we are so proud to call home today.

This Founders’ Day, we honor the women who started it all and the generations of sisters who have carried their legacy forward. Here at Gamma Kappa, that legacy lives in every friendship, every shared memory, and every sister who encourages us to grow.

To the women who paved the way and the sisters beside us today—thank you for giving us something so special to belong to. Happy Founders’ Day, Alpha Phi! AOE, today and always 🧸💐

“ Emily Veuve and I met for the first time in her hometown and have been best friends ever since! Starting college together has been such a special experience, and I honestly couldn’t imagine going through this new chapter with anyone else. After being roommates we do everything together. We love to go to the beach, shopping, dinners, and lots more! We are so thankful to not only be roommates but also now be in the same sorority! WHY APHI WEDNESDAY 🧸🌿

“I didn’t go through formal recruitment, so my journey to Alpha Phi looked a little different. I was a Fall ’23 COB, and I’m genuinely so grateful that I decided to take that chance because it led me to some of my best friends for life. I also got really close with my COB class, which made joining Aphi even more special because we all got to experience it together. Aphi has given me such an amazing group of girls who I can always count on and so many memories that I’ll forever be thankful for. Coming in through COB showed me that there’s no “right” way to find your home, and I truly couldn’t imagine my college experience without Aphi. If you’re thinking about COBing Aphi, I definitely recommend giving it a chanceyou never know, it might lead you to your best friends too! “ - sam!!
