The Mana Program is a community dedicated to building cultural and educational experiences for Asian Pacific Islander Desi students. Mana's goal is to help enhance students' experiences and make connections between courses, instructors and their classmates through learning communities, social events, conferences, college tours, and student support programming. Bringing in relevant voices, stories, and community experiences, Mana provides support to ensure students reach their educational goal. The Mana community helps ground students to build a strong foundation within their own communities to reach academic success.
This class is part of the MANA Learning Community dedicated to building cultural and educational experiences for Asian Pacific Islander Desi students. MANA's goal is to help enhance students' experiences and make connection between courses, instructors, and classmates by examining relevant voices, stories, and community experiences. The course provides individualized activities and one-to-one feedback from a writing instructor to supplement skills and supports necessary to complete ENGL 1. By enrolling in this course, during the Fall term, MANA students will be automatically enrolled in TWO classes: English 1 and Counseling 1 for a total of 5.0 units. The English 1 course is Transferrable to both UC and CSU.
