1986: Construction was underway on what would become Heath Hardwick Hall, a project designed to provide new classrooms, faculty offices, technology-enhanced learning spaces, and an expanded home for the liberal arts.

Today: Heath Hardwick Hall remains a central part of the LeTourneau experience. In the early 1990s, the facility was expanded with the addition of Longview Hall, creating the connected academic space generations of students know today.

For nearly 40 years, Heath Hardwick Hall has helped shape students through learning, community, and an intentional Christian education.

The Center for Academic Ministry is an investment in people.

As part of the Build with Purpose campaign, CAM equips LeTourneau faculty and staff to more deeply integrate Christian faith with teaching, scholarship, mentoring, and daily work. Through retreats, seminars, research fellowships, and faculty development, this initiative helps strengthen the university's Christian identity and prepares students to serve Christ in every workplace and every nation.

To date, $1,562,000 has been raised toward the $4 million goal.

We are grateful for the alumni and friends who have already invested in this vision. Every gift helps equip the people who shape the lives, faith, and calling of LeTourneau students for generations to come.

If this vision resonates with you, consider joining us in supporting the Center for Academic Ministry and investing in the people who help students connect faith, learning, and vocation. https://www.letu.edu/development/build/project-academic-ministry.html

🚧 Project Update 🚧

Momentum continues to build at the Abbott Aviation Center as crews complete critical site and infrastructure work in preparation for upcoming foundation construction.

Completed This Period:
• Backfilled the trench from the existing sanitary sewer beneath the building
• Completed saw cutting and concrete removal for the OLL spread footings
• Installed the new fire hydrant
• Finished over-excavation of the Xing building pad
• Installed the walkway ramp
• Began proof rolling operations for the hangar

Looking Ahead (Next 3 Weeks):
• Continue proof rolling for the hangar
• Excavate footers for the OLL and coordinate with the Testing Laboratory to confirm subgrade conditions
• Complete reinforcement inspections prior to concrete placement
• Place concrete for OLL spread footings
• Begin under-slab plumbing installation

Each milestone brings the project one step closer to reality. We appreciate the hard work of our crews, partners, and stakeholders as construction continues to move forward safely and efficiently.

to 20 years ago. In 2006, LeTourneau University celebrated its first Ivy Cutting Ceremony, inaugurating a tradition that symbolized both growth and commissioning.

As incoming freshmen, students planted ivy on campus as a symbol of putting down roots in the LETU community. Over the next four years, they were nurtured by God's word, faculty, staff, and fellow students as they grew in knowledge, faith, and purpose.

At graduation, the cutting of the ivy represented their transition from campus life to their commissioning to serve as Christ's ambassadors in the world.

Traditions like these remind us that a LeTourneau education has always been about more than earning a degree—it's about preparing graduates to live out their faith wherever God leads them.

In 1983, LeTourneau College launched a groundbreaking freshman computer program because Dr. Richard LeTourneau believed technology would shape the future. At a time when computers were still unfamiliar to many, he said:

ā€œLearning to ā€˜drive’ a computer will be just as important.ā€

More than 40 years later, that vision is still moving forward.

From early computer terminals to today’s laptops, labs, simulators, and advanced engineering spaces, LeTourneau University continues preparing students to lead, innovate, and serve in a rapidly changing world.

80 years later, the mission continues — generation after generation.

One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.

97%. 99%. 100%.

These graduate placement rates reflect the percentage of LETU graduates employed or in graduate school within six months of graduation.

They aren’t just numbers — they represent graduates stepping confidently into their calling.

LeTourneau University continues to equip students for lives of purpose and careers of impact through hands-on learning, faith-forward education, and real-world experience across every college and discipline.

From aviation and engineering to nursing, business, theology, counseling, and the arts, LETU students are launching into the workforce ready to lead, serve, and build what matters.

Still moving. Still building. Still preparing students to impact the world for Christ.

The future home of the Christian Polytechnic University Center is beginning to take shape.

Construction fencing is now in place as LeTourneau University prepares to begin work on this transformational project — a space designed to equip the next generation of engineers, business leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers to serve Christ in every corner of the world.

This project represents more than a building. It represents students being shaped academically, spiritually, and professionally for lives of purpose and impact.

We are grateful for the many donors and supporters helping move this vision forward. If you are interested in supporting the Christian Polytechnic University Center, we would love to connect with you and share more about the project and its impact.

to 1976 and one of LeTourneau’s early student fundraising efforts: Scholarshare.

30 years ago, more than 300 students participated in the ā€œSpirit of ’76ā€ phonothon, making thousands of calls over three evenings to help raise scholarship support for fellow students. The effort reflected a simple but powerful idea—students helping students pursue a Christian education.

Nearly 50 years later, that same spirit of generosity and community continues at LeTourneau University as alumni, friends, and supporters invest in future generations of YellowJackets.

From the early days of LeTourneau Tech to the graduates who crossed the stage this year, generations of students have been prepared here for lives that serve with purpose and light.

While campus has changed over the decades, the mission continues—equipping students through faith, hands-on learning, and a calling to serve Christ wherever they go.

80 years later… we’re still moving.
