Aren’t we actors lucky this man was born on this day, 121 years ago? Today we celebrate a man who completely transformed the craft of Acting from performance and indication to behaving, truthfully under imaginary circumstances. But even beyond changing the craft of Acting, he taught us a way to be present, and to work from our Hearts. Thank you, Mr. Meisner.

Material that raises what you expect from yourself. That is why we work on writers like Aaron Sorkin, and Tennessee Williams, and even Shakespeare. You’re on camera Acting will thank you forever.

What can Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, and Aaron Sorkin teach you about booking your next film or TV role?
More than you’d think. 🎭
Our upcoming Scene Study class dives into stylized language — not to teach you to “speak Shakespeare,” but to sharpen how you think, listen, respond, and make language physical.
Because the same skills that crack open heightened text — precision, rhythm, bold choices — are exactly what make actors like Kate Winslet, Andrew Garfield, Olivia Colman, and Mark Rylance so free and grounded on screen.
The goal isn’t to become a Shakespearean actor. It’s to become a more versatile one.

Being a great actor requires technique and training, but also developing yourself as an artist and a human.

to walk in someone else’s shoes, that’s the reason a lot of us became actors. But that requires some real attention to the vocal physical and psychological changes you need to make to inhabit that person. Sandy Meisner‘s second year addressed specific issues to help you be able to look at the world through someone else’s eyes. To live truthfully in their imaginary circumstances.
